Carnoustie residents were left bewildered after finding a car balancing on a garden wall.
At around 5.50am today police received a report of a one vehicle collision in Kirkton Terrace, Carnoustie.
Officers are now investigating how the white Volkswagen came to be there.
No one is believed to have been injured and it is still unknown who the driver was.
Kate Coffield, 57, who lives on the street said: “Our house is directly opposite where the car was found.
“My husband and I were in bed and we heard a bang, so my husband went to the window to see what the racket was.
“He said ‘you’ll never believe this’ and we saw the car on the wall, between two gardens. It didn’t look like it had a single scratch on it, but it must have been damaged in some way.
“We never saw the driver.
“It was totally bizarre, this is a quiet cul-de-sac and it’s the first time I’ve ever seen anything like this.”
The vehicle has now been removed.
