Police appeal for information on nightclub assault

Police investigating an assault in Aberdeen are keen to speak to a man who may come from the Arbroath area.The incident took place between 1.30am and 1.43am on Sunday, August 30 within and outside Babylon Nightclub, Alford Place.

A 30-year-old man sustained a ‘significant’ injury.

Officers are keen to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

He is described as being in his late twenties to early thirties, around 5ft 8ins and of stocky build.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white shirt, dark jeans or black trousers with braces hanging from the rear and brown shoes.

He may be called Aaron and come from the Arbroath area.

Investigating Officer Constable Graham Crawford said: “This is a serious incident resulting in a male sustaining a severe facial injury.

“Assaults of this nature can have a significant impact on the life of the victim as well as a negative impact on the reputation of the Aberdeen city centre night time economy.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises the male pictured or has any knowledge of this incident to come forward and contact the police.”
