The parents of a man who died in a car crash in Tayside have appealed for the people who found their son’s body to come forward.
Kieran Innes’s car was spotted in long grass after the one-vehicle smash on the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road near Forfar last Tuesday morning.
It is believed the accident may have taken place the night before.
The 24-year-old football coach from Aberdeen suffered fatal injuries in the incident.
Kieran’s mum and dad, Mandy and Nom, from Aberdeen, want to personally thank the two men who discovered their son.
Nom said: “All we know is it was two guys going to work about 7.30am-8am.
“I presume they must have been driving tractors and been away to plough the field.
“I was at the crash site on Thursday and the field had been recently ploughed.
“We just want to try and get hold of them to say ‘thank you very much’.
“I know they’ll probably be feeling it a bit because it’s not exactly the best thing to find when you’re going to work in the morning.”
Last week, the family spoke of their grief at losing Kieran, saying he would be remembered for his sense of humour and being a “fun-loving” guy.
Mandy said: “He lived life to the fullest.”
Brother Sean led tributes to Kieran online, saying: “My best man, my best friend, my brother and my hero.
“I love you and I miss you Kieran. Fly high my wasp.”
A 2006 coach for Middlefield Wasps football team, Kieran was also a keen musician and had been a member of a band called the Late Night Wanderers.
Nom said the family had been inundated with messages of condolence following Kieran’s passing, which showed how much he meant to people.
He added: “The number of people who have been in contact with us through Facebook and other means has just been amazing. Just brilliant.
“The whole family is overwhelmed.
“The house is like a florist’s shop with the amount of flowers we’ve had. It’s really great.”
Kieran’s funeral is expected to take place this week.
His car was left lying on its roof in a field beside the dual carriageway following the crash — with the car only just visible through the trees.
The vehicle appeared to have crashed into the banking, before flipping over and coming to rest.
Part of the road was cordoned off for much of Tuesday morning as police carried out investigations at the scene.
Two marked police cars were parked on the road alongside an unmarked silver BMW, a marked van and an incident support unit van.
