A Tayside woman told of the terrifying moment her car spun out of control — with her young daughter inside — and crashed into a tree.
Kaitlyn Mann, 19, was around three miles outside Forfar with daughter London Curran when she lost control of the vehicle.
The blue Renault Clio began to slide on the wet carriageway, causing it to leave the road.
Kaitlyn, who lives in the Angus town, said: “I was just coming into Forfar with my three-year-old in the car.
“The car started to slide and I couldn’t control it.
“Stupidly, I pressed the brakes but it was just a natural reaction.
“The car spun and I ended up on the other side of the road and crashed into a tree.
“I’m lucky there weren’t any cars coming and I’m also lucky I hit the tree.
“If I hadn’t hit the tree the car would have continued into the ditch and it could have rolled over.
“I honestly don’t really know what happened.”

Kaitlyn added: “I hit my head and I think I closed my eyes — it feels like a bad dream.”
Despite being shaken, neither Kaitlyn nor London suffered any serious injuries.
The pair waited at the roadside while a recovery vehicle was called to pull the car to safety.
Kaitlyn, who studied at Webster’s Academy in Kirriemuir, said: “My back is still really sore but I’m fine.
“Nobody was hurt, which is the most important thing.
“A guy in a car behind me got out to make sure I was OK.
“He took my phone off of me because I couldn’t talk — I was totally shocked.
“He was really nice and helped to calm me down.
“I wasn’t in any pain on the day of the accident but I was feeling it the next day.”
The full extent of the damage to the car is yet to be assessed by insurers.
Kaitlyn added: “I don’t think it’s fixable, or it might not be worth fixing.
“I might have to get another car. I will have to wait and see.”
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Officers attended a road traffic incident on Sunday at around 6pm.
“One car came off the road. The incident occurred around three miles outside of Forfar on the B9113, near to the Old Station House.
“The vehicle came off the road but no other vehicles were involved.
“The car collided with a tree and came to a standstill.
“There were no injuries to either the driver or the passenger.”
The spokeswoman added: “The owner of the car then arranged to have the vehicle recovered.
“No other emergency services were required to attend the incident.”
