Iconic American band The Beach Boys are to close Montrose Music Festival next year, it has been announced.
The group, who have sold over 100 million records across the glove, will come to the area for the 10th anniversary of the festival.
Famed for their ‘California sound’, The Beach Boys will perform some of their greatest hits and fan favourites from their 50-year career including Good Vibrations, Surfin USA, Barbara Ann, Fun Fun Fun, and Wouldn’t It Be Nice.
Following their performance, the Montrose Music Festival will come to a close with a fireworks display on the East Links, for show goers.
Led by co-founder Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, who along with Jeffrey Foskett, Brian Eichenburger, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten continue the legacy of one of the most recognisable bands in history.
Announcing the show, The Beach Boys’ Mike Love, said: “It’s great that 50 years plus we’re still in a position to be touring and sharing our music with fans around the world.
“We’re really looking forward to performing outdoors in Montrose, and being part of this popular festival. It’s going to be a great night!”
MoFest 2017 takes place from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 May 2017 and will feature live music at a number of venues in Montrose.
