A 65-year-old man has died in a crash on one of Tayside’s busiest roads.
Emergency services were called to a collision between a Skoda car and a lorry on the A90, two miles south of Brechin, at around 6.20pm yesterday.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Sadly the 65 year old male driver of the Skoda died at the scene.
“The 30-year-old female passenger in the Skoda and the lorry driver were uninjured.”
The road was closed until 1am today as police officers carried out a full investigation.
The spokesman added: “The driver of the Skoda will not be named until formal identification has taken place.
“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to any police officer.”
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal once iinquiries are completed.
