Girl, 2, dies in Tayside road crash

A two-year-old girl has been killed in a horror road crash in Tayside.

The tot was walking on the pavement with her siblings when the collision happened in Coupar Angus at about 3.20pm today.

The girl’s six-year-old brother and 17-year-old sister were injured in the incident on the A94 at the junction with Larghan Park. The extent of their injuries is not known.

Two vehicles collided in the smash which led to the tragic death. No details of the vehicles or the condition of those in them have been released by Police Scotland.

Police, the Scottish Ambulance Service, Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) and a trauma team all attended the scene.

The road is expected to remain closed while investigations are carried out.

A spokesman for the force said: “The A94 Forfar Road will remain closed to allow collision investigation to be completed and allow inquiries into the full circumstances of the incident to continue.

“Anyone who has information that could assist officers with their inquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
