Two people have been hospitalised after a road crash on the edge of Dundee.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A90 near Powrie Brae following the two-car smash at about 2.50pm.
Paramedics attended and treated the casualties at the scene before taking them to hospital.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra and the passenger in the Audi Quattro involved in the smash were rushed to Ninewells. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The southbound carriageway was completely blocked with tailbacks of up to two miles being reported.
One eyewitness said: “There were cars across the road. No one was able to get passed. There’s a long queue of traffic travelling on the southbound carriageway.”
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We were notified of a road traffic collision on the A90 near Powrie Brae.
“A grey Vauxhall Astra and a grey Audi Quattro were involved in the collision.
“The road was reopened a short time later.
A spokeswoman for BEAR Scotland said: “We assisted Police Scotland following a minor RTC which occurred at approximately 3pm South of Powrie Brae on the A90. The southbound carriageway is now fully reopened however traffic is slow in the area”
