A body has been found in a fire-ravaged lodge near Dundee, police confirmed tonight.
The find was made at Piperdam Holiday Resort, which was the scene of a major blaze in the early hours of yesterday.
Formal identification of the body is yet to take place. However, the family of missing person Jamie McLennan, 26, from Aberdeen has been made aware.
It is understood that Mr McLennan had been visiting two registered guests staying at the resort. The two guests were not in the lodge when the fire broke out.

A police spokesman said: “The fire is being treated as unexplained and a joint investigation with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing into the circumstances of the fire.
“The lodge was a stand-alone building and no other lodges or buildings were affected by the fire. There was no requirement for evacuations of other buildings/lodges during the incident.”
Friends of Mr McLennan had earlier said they were concerned for his welfare following his disappearance.
One said: “He was just down staying at Piperdam with a friend.
“He was last seen in the city centre and had been at the casino.
“He got a taxi back to Piperdam and hasn’t been seen since. We are very, very worried.”

The fire was reported at 7.30am yesterday and three crews attended from Macalpine Road and Blackness Road stations.
Upon arrival, fire crews discovered the building was “well alight”.
More than three hours later, two fire crews remained at the scene to dampen down the area.
The Muirloch Executive Lodge, which includes a hot tub, can cost up to £700 to hire for a three-night weekend.
Watch manager Terry Whyte, of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Three appliances attended from Macalpine Road and Blackness stations.
“Approximately 15 firefighters were on the scene. We found the lodge well alight but quickly got it under control.”
