A man who died following an accident involving a bus has been formally identified.
Michael McKeown was struck by the vehicle on Don Street on Friday at around 11.10am.
The 78-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment but died as a result of the injuries sustained.
A statement from Police Scotland today read: “Inquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going and Tayside Division would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their enquiries to contact Tayside Division on 101.
“As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Mr McKeown was a well-known fundraiser who has been involved with the Forfar branch of the Legion for decades, he also represented Angus and Perthshire on Legion Scotland’s national board of trustees.
